Styling Scorpia
Scorpia was a joy to style. This architectural beauty with all its curves, light and finishes put this property and the overall build in a styling category all of its own.
Graya’s BRIEF was to make the feel of the home “not styled”... (which is trickier than it sounds)
We complimented the concrete and neutral colour palette with marble and warm tones in our finishes and focused on a simple, stated style…

The Purpose
Styled for Sale
This property was ‘styled for sale’.
A well known builder, a sort after location & a coveted finished product meant that ‘Scorpia’ would garner a lot of traction and attention across the industry. Harnessing this exposure and turning into views and interest was key!

With a price point $10+million, ensuring that the styling was reflective of a relative buyers expectation was essential. We had to work in with the quality of the build and aesthetic and pull together all the special design elements.
It was BLOK’s key objective to showcase each space. We needed to style in a way that conveyed how these areas could be used, and the type of lifestyle a buyer might expect if they were to live in the home.

The Style
In keeping with GRAYA’s brand, we kept the style subtle, natural and modern contemporary.
We worked with Rob and Andrew to curate an aesthetic that was perfectly suited to the home. We used our styling prowess to give it an edge and to make it stand out from previous projects.
BLOK styled the entire property, which afforded us the opportunity to ensure a cohesive and curated palette that was consistent throughout. Our finishes never over shadow what is already so beautifully executed, but rather adds an additional layer that brings all elements together.
One of the greatest compliments you can receive as a property stylist is “This doesn’t feel like a staged property” and those were the exact words used by Andrew Gray when he viewed Scorpia!
One of the greatest compliments you can receive as a property stylist is that the finished product feels like you were never actually there! So when Andrew Gray said “This doesn’t feel like a staged property” when he viewed Scorpia we knew we had achieved what we set out to do!

The Features
The kitchen was perfectly positioned for the entertainers lifestyle and designed to take full advantage of the incredible middle courtyard. A thoughtfully designed space that takes full advantage of the changing of light and shadow throughout the day.
COLLABORATORS:
BLOK had the joy in collaborating with KOLBI for key furniture pieces, including the much discussed 2.8m solid marble dining table (which had to be craned into the property!).
Uniqwa supplied dining chairs and poolside furniture, along with Emma St Studio providing the most beautiful original artworks scattered throughout the home. Kobn and Leif also supplied the accessories for bathrooms, and Jess Salinger curated stunning ceramics which were utter perfection.
To ground it all and pull all of the interior styling together we had the team from The Rug Establishment provide all the rugs. Like icing on a property stylists cake.
